What You’ll Learn
The Online Ministry Minor equips students with a strong theological foundation and practical ministry skills rooted in Scripture and Christian tradition. Designed for flexibility and spiritual depth, this fully online program helps students grow in personal faith while preparing to serve effectively in ministry and leadership roles.
Students will:

Deepen Spiritual Practices: Engage in formative disciplines such as prayer, Bible study, worship, and journaling to cultivate a vibrant, personal relationship with God.

Explore Core Christian Doctrines: Gain a structured understanding of key theological themes including Christology, pneumatology, ecclesiology, and eschatology through a survey of systematic theology.

Build Biblical Interpretation Skills: Choose a focused course in interpreting Scripture—whether from the whole Bible, the Old Testament, or the New Testament—to develop sound interpretive methods for teaching and application.

Study the Mission and History of the Church: Select from courses in evangelism and apologetics or church history to explore the Church’s role in spreading the Gospel and shaping culture throughout time.

Customize Your Ministry Path: Select two upper-level electives from the School of Ministry to tailor your studies to specific interests such as missions, theology, pastoral care, or biblical studies.

As a student majoring in any of the undergraduate programs offered in the School of Ministry, you’ll wade into an ocean of diverse learning opportunities designed to prepare you to positively impact lives.

Ministry Electives – 6 Credit Hours
Select an additional two courses (6 credits) from within the School of Ministry (excluding the courses used to meet the Faith, Roots, and Reason Biblical and Theological Studies requirement). Courses with APL, BIB, ICS, MLS, and THL prefixes are within the School of Ministry.
Note: BIB 3073 – Exploring the Old Testament cannot be used as an elective for the minor if BIB 3233 – Interpreting the Old Testament is used to meet the requirement above, and BIB 3083 – Exploring the New Testament cannot be used as an elective for the minor if BIB 243 – Interpreting the New Testament is used to meet the requirement above.

In addition to the flexible online option, students may also choose to pursue the Ministry Minor in person at Palm Beach Atlantic University’s main campus in West Palm Beach. The on-campus program offers the same strong biblical and theological foundation, enriched by face-to-face interaction, campus community, and opportunities for hands-on ministry experience.
